Ask ERIC Virtual Library -Lesson plans, Ask ERIC's collections, search ERIC database, etc. Chreods -An electronic journal exploring educational issues with a math education tendency. DeweyWeb - The mission of DeweyWeb is to not only serve information to students, but also attempt to provide them a chance to contribute their own observations, findings, and reflections. DeweyWeb appears to be evolving into a sort of "clearinghouse" for experiments in electronic experiential education (or telecommunications-based education :-). Many projects using DeweyWeb share staff and resources. In this vein, this page consists of pointers to the real projects, where you can find out information about their staff, status, and participants. ESP Publishers - Basic skills workbooks and world famous GOLDEN YEARBOOKS that contain the entire curriculum for basic skills. EconEdLink provides teachers with a variety of online and classroom learning activities based on economic topics in the news, all designed to help integrate economic concepts across the curriculum as outlined in the Voluntary National Content Standards in Economics. EDSITEment offers teachers and parents a guide to the top web sites in literature and language arts, foreign language, arts and culture, and history and social studies, as well as classroom-ready lesson plans that draw on Internet resources. Education-related sites -Yahoo is the most popular search engine on the Web. They maintain a continually-updated list of sites related to all areas of education. Eisenhower National Clearinghouse -Resources for K-12 math and science teachers. Environmental Education Network -A clearinghouse for all environmental education information and materials. From Now On -Written by veteran school Internet consultant Jamieson McKenzie, Ed.D., From Now On is an online publication educators will appreciate. Every month, McKenzie addresses a hot issue of interest to Internet-using K-12 educators. How to Develop an Online Course - A step-by-step guide to developing online courses. Illuminations is designed to 'illuminate' the updated NCTM Principles and Standards for School Mathematics through multi-media mathematics investigations, reflections on teaching, links to the best panel-reviewed mathematics web resources and Internet-based lesson plans. Institute for the Transfer of Technology to Education -This is maintained by the National School Boards' Association as they attempt to bring education into the modern world. A wealth of material, including up-to-the-minute state aid information for every district in the state and current SED news/reports. This site is a "must see" for all NY educators! Pathways to School Improvement -Lots of information about school change presented by the North Central Regional Education Laboratory. Peterson's Education Center - "Wow. It's not often that information resource companies give you full access to their material via the Web: There's still no effective way to make money off of it. Peterson's does, however, providing a huge stock of info about schools, summer programs, and business management. As with most pages, this site is under continual construction; you'll frequently be greeted by a "We're sorry..." message. But the areas that *are* fully implemented - such as those with Graduate School information - are gorgeous, complete, and easy-to-use. Peterson's Education Center is a gem that will only get better - until you have to pay for it." Wentworth Educational Web -Wealth of all sorts of K-12 information and curriculum links maintained by the publishers of Classroom Connect newsletter. World Lecture Hall -The World Lecture Hall, produced and actively maintained by the University of Texas at Austin, holds a large collection of university and college web pages used to deliver course content. Over 80 subject areas are covered, from accounting to zoology. Individual course pages include links to syllabi, assignments, lecture notes, exams, class calendars, multimedia textbooks, and other related materials. The Lecture Hall gives instructors a glimpse into the possibilities of delivering course material via the Internet.
